Rational width of narrow coal pillar based on the main roof’s hanging roof length

摘要: 针对基本顶悬顶长度对窄煤柱稳定性的不利影响,采用理论分析与数值模拟相结合的方法,研究了沿空巷道的开挖位置以及护巷窄煤柱的合理宽度。结果表明:基本顶悬顶长度会直接影响到沿空掘巷围岩的稳定性,为使基本顶断裂线位于煤壁内侧,提高围岩的稳定性及煤柱的支承能力,确定合理的护巷煤柱宽度为5m。现场工业性试验表明,研究成果对沿空巷道位置的选取、窄煤柱合理宽度的确定是科学合理的,同时也为该矿取得了良好的技术经济效益。

Abstract: In this paper, aiming at the adverse effects of main roof’s hanging roof length on the stability of narrow coal pillar, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are used to study the excavation position and the reasonable width of narrow coal pillar. The results show that the length of hanging roof in main roof can directly affects the stability of the roadway surrounding rock. In order to make the fracture line located inside the coal wall, improve the stability of the surrounding rock and the supporting capacity of coal pillar, ascertaining that the reasonable width of coal pillar is 5m. The industrial test show that the selection of the roadway’s position and the width of narrow coal pillar are scientific and reasonable, and satisfactory technical and economic effects are achieved.
